Dear Diary,
Today I want to talk to you about what I do each day because you know, it can be pretty exciting. ☺
After sleeping all night on the floor beside the bed, the first thing I do when I wake up is wag my tail to show mom and dad how happy I am and then I go over to say good morning with a lick of their face and make them pet me.
After I am let out to do my business, I come back in and assesses the situation. Are mom and dad going to work? I can tell because if dad has to work, he will shower right away and if mom has to work, she will get dressed and put makeup on.
If it looks like they are leaving me, then I boycott eating my breakfast. Mom and dad don’t like it when I do that. I am hoping if I don’t eat, they will stay home with me instead. It never works though..
If they are staying home, I can tell because they’ll watch Friends on Netflix. I make sure to eat my breakfast really fast so I don’t miss anything. Then I’ll play with my toys. I’m really proud of my toys.
Sometimes I play too much with my stuffy toys and all the white stuff comes out and mom and dad get mad and take the toy away ☹ But it’s ok, because I have lots of other toys.
If mom and dad are gone to work, I usually jump on the couch and sleep most of the day. I tend to slobber a lot on the couch and then it’s so funny when mom or dad sits on it and their butt gets all wet 😀
Some days, mom takes me to grandpas for the day if she has to work. I love to spend time with grandpa. He plays fetch with me all day and feeds my lots of treats. Sometimes they say grandpa spoils me. I don’t know what spoil means, but if it means I get to do all my favourite things and eat all my favourite foods, then ya, maybe he does spoil me.
When mom and dad get home from work I am so happy to see them. I feel like they’ve been gone forever! I jump up and lick them and run laps around the yard because I am so happy to see them. They are my best friends.
Now I get to go for a walk or go swimming or go for a run on the trail with them. This is my favourite time of day. I look forward to it each day. I just love spending time with them. And the smells, sooooo many smells! I’m pretty sure all the other dogs know that I own the trail – but I make sure to pee on everything so they don’t forget!
Then I come home and eat dinner. It was the same thing I had for breakfast and for dinner the night before but I just love it!
If I’m lucky, mom will feed me veggies that she’s cutting up for dinner too.
After dinner, we all snuggle on the couch. Lately I like mom better than dad because she smells like she’s having a baby and it’s my job to protect her. I’m pretty sure the best way to keep her and the baby safe is to sit right on top of her. I still like dad too, but he’s not growing a brand new human for me to play with, so I don’t need to smother him like mom.
After snuggling it’s time for bed. Mom goes to bed first and I get to snuggle with her in the bed for a while. Then dad comes to bed and after a while I jump off the bed because it’s too hot.
I sleep on the floor and I like it. I like everything about my life.
But most of all I love my mom and dad. And I am so excited for whatever is coming out of mom’s belly! I hope it’s a puppy!
